Does is have any scratches on the disc? Can you return it for a new copy?
Sometimes I tell students I’m going to collect and grade their classnotes on throughness and legibility at the end of the class period. Amazing how many of them stop texting and start looking for their pens.
@sonnetjoy - No scratches–I tried it on my wife’s computer and it seems to have loaded fine. Worst-case scenario, I’ll do my printing from hers.
Unrelated to the post: When you’re grading papers, what is it about a sentence that makes you say “Hmm… this might be plagiarized. I’d better Google it?”
One word. Apple.
@Saakara - Often the same things that might make them candidates for an A. Greater-than-average vocabulary, complex sentence forms used correctly, signs of understanding advanced literary concepts not covered in class. Especially if such things happen abruptly mid-essay or come from a student not known for his/her work.
